MBA in a book

February 13, 2013

MBA in a Book: Fundamental Principles of Business, Sales, and Leadership is mostly a collection of quotes used to illustrate the key points of various business subjects, such as: investing, management, marketing, success, etc.

The book is very short because it’s only a collection of quotes. I did find the quotes entertaining, and they were relevant to the chapter’s subject for the most part. It was entertaining, and a quick read so it’s worth going through if you can get it from your local library. So I’ll leave you with some quotes.

Avoid mushroom management (keeping your employees in the dark and covered in horseshit) – Anonymous

Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work – Thomas Edison.

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will – Vince Lombardi.

Always bear in mind that our own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing – Abraham Lincoln.

Leadership is getting people to work for you when they are not obligated – Fred Smith.

Knowledge is not enough. If you can’t teach and you can’t motivate, you can’t lead – John Wooden.
